More on Idaho!

Maddy and mommy at the start of the trip

Madison and I had a blast and we traveled all by ourselves. We left on Labor day and didn't get back until the next Monday, poor Jason was a mess when we left. We took a plane from Columbus to salt lake city Utah at 4:00pm. Once we arrived in salt lake we had to go and get our luggage, that turned out to be one of the hardest parts of the trip but i managed. A baby, one large suitcase, a diaper bag, and a car seat = hard to carry around by yourself!!!. After i grabbed all of our stuff and something for dinner we had to wait around for about an hour so that we could catch a shuttle system to Idaho falls Idaho. I was under the impression when we bought the tickets that vans were used and I would be able to use Maddy's car seat for this 4 hour drive but when the shuttle arrived it was a mini bus with no seat belts. I was a little sad about this because a lap baby on a plane seems so much easier to deal with than one on a road, but we managed. Maddy actually did very well and slept almost the whole time.

we arrived in Idaho falls an hour late and 1am in the morning their time so 3 am our time, it was a long long long day but we made it. I finally was able to meet my dearest friends little girl tayla (7.5 months) and see xander (2 years) again, it had been a year since i had seen him, It was exciting.

little tayla!!!

all three angels, Maddy, Tayla, and Xander

On Tuesday Maddy had some time change problems and we had a somewhat crabby clingy baby. She didn't know Melissa and daddy was no where to be found, poor girly. As the day went on things got better and better and she began to warm up to the whole idea of being on a vacation with mommy. Watching the kids play together for the first time was wonderful and a priceless experience. Tayla, even though a few months younger, is pretty much the same size as Maddy its crazy crazy lol. Maddy was able to play pretty well with both kids, she is sort of in an in between stage of development and growth. She could crawl around and wrestle a little with xander (if he was gentle) and could sit and play nicely with tayla. So very cute!!!!

Maddy and Tayla Playing together (see how close in size they are)

AWWWWW

Melissa reading to all three kids!!!

Later that week we took a trip to the mall so i could finally buy a present for Jason for our anniversary!! we have officially made it 2 years as a married couple!!!!! While we were out the kids were able to play in the play area and they just had a blast, especially xander!!!

We also took a trip to the park nearby, it was by far the best park i have ever been too. Everyone had such a wonderful time. Xander was running and playing everywhere and even Maddy was able to roam around a little bit. Xander found a little girl that he just loved and he chased her around for a bit lol it was so very cute!!!

xander's first time down the slide by himself, such a big boy

The kids had a blast together and i loved seeing Melissa again but as all good things do our trip had to come to an end, daddy was missing his little girl and maybe even is wifey a bit. We left at 4am Idaho time and boarded the bus to take us back to the airport. Again Madison did absolutely wonderful!!!!!!!! Once we arrived in salt lake I unloaded everything from the bus, again all by myself i am becoming a pro at this, and received our boarding pass. Once we made it through security we did a diaper change and found our gate. We had an hour to blow and the wonderful airport that is salt lake had a play area right in front of our boarding gate. Madison had such a wonderful time playing there, it was a well needed break from our travels. The boarding attendants we wonderful as well, when we were about the board they came and got Madison and I and asked if we wanted to board first. He then said he managed to free up the seat next to us and so Maddy was able to have her own seat!!!!! She did very well once again with the plane ride and the flight attendants loved her. He he the biggest ordeal on the plane was having to change a poopy diaper in the airplane bathroom , what an endeavor.

she did so well, but now such a tuckered out little girl

all in all the trip was wonderful but as much as I love being gone and on vacation it has been so wonderful being home. I missed my hubby more than i realized i would.
